Better snorkeling control & lap swimming fins

Like many people, Jan Carlos uses his shinfinTM fins for multiple activities, finding them great for lap swimming and giving more control when snorkeling. As he feels, this is because they target the correct muscles to give him a powerful kick from his hips. Moreover, their extra control, together with leaving his feet free and not protruding beyond his toes, reduces unwanted damage to frail coral reefs (unlike long foot fins).

Juan Carlos’ review from Brisbane, Australia

“Overall, I’m very happy with my shinfinTM fins. Thanks for a great product and for the support. The initial experience could be a bit disappointing, but in no time you find the benefits. You feel the target muscles working. They are working great for my lap swimming. For snorkeling, they worked fine and you feel you are more in control when trying not to damage the frail coral reefs.”

Juan Carlos’ review: Better lap swimming fins & more control when snorkeling

“Much appreciated. It took me while to adjust myself to the shinfinTM fins, just a matter of finding the right adjustment. The initial experience could be a bit disappointing, but in no time you find the benefits. You feel the target muscles working. They are working great for my lap swimming.”

“I also took them for my holidays, for snorkeling. They worked fine and you feel you are more in control when trying not to damage the frail coral reefs. I bet all those diving fins people use for snorkeling are causing a great damage.”

“I feel the strap system could be improved. Making minor adjustments takes a while. I have thought of trying another material, but haven’t yet. This is a very minor complaint.”

Many thanks for your kind reply Juan. Yes, we have many happy customers using shinfinTM fins for snorkeling. As you will have found, the fins work well for surface snorkeling, duck diving and swimming underwater. They have a natural feel and don’t kick up as much sand as foot flippers.

You can do faster shorter kicks or slower longer kicks, whatever you prefer. They work with a streamlined kick, with your knees fairly straight and power from your thighs, buttocks, stomach and torso.

I’m sorry the straps aren’t as intuitive as I would like but I think I can help, including a quick way of making minor adjustments. With practice, following the tips we sent with the fins and by email, each fin usually takes about 30 seconds to put on, 10 seconds to take off, and 10 seconds to tighten or loosen whilst wearing the fins.

“Thanks. And yes, feel free to extract any parts of my email you consider useful. Will try your tips and let you know.”

Thank you for your kind permission Juan. Personal recommendation is very important to help a new product like this along, so I really appreciate it. All the best and look forward to hearing from you again later.

Conclusion

You will find shinfinTM fins great for multiple activities, as they activate the correct muscles for lap swimming and give more control snorkeling, for example. You will feel them targeting the correct muscles to give you a powerful kick from your hips.

Furthermore, they give extra control in the water, don’t stick out past your toes and leave your feet free. So they reduce snorkeling damage to frail coral reefs and also reduce shoreline damage when body surfing etc. (unlike wearing foot fins which extend beyond your feet). They come with a guarantee too.
