Following a heart attack and some strokes, Lyn’s father (81) balances better and feels safer using shinfinTM fins for his water therapy. They make it easier and safer for him to walk and stand in the water because they leave his feet free. He finds the smooth kick from his entire leg much easier because they lift his body more horizontal and streamlined.
Lyn’s review from Sydney, Australia
“Congratulations on an excellent product and great sales and service. The shinfinTM fins have been fantastic, as they are easy to move in while entering the water and allow him to maintain balance easier while standing in the water. The distribution of the energy through the entire leg, rather than just the ankle, also means it is much easier and takes less energy, to kick. The confidence factor, in that he feels safer, is also important.”
Lyn’s review: Safer water therapy fins give better balance
“I have been meaning to get in touch – the fins are great! The only problem was all the attention they created. Congratulations on an excellent product and great sales and service.”
That’s great. Have you both tried them, as well as your father? Were you using them in the pool or sea?
“A bit of background about dad. His name is Bruce and he is 81 and lives near Ballina, on the far north coast NSW. He has always loved the water and got his bronze medal in 1941. He was one of the earliest members of the Ballina Lighthouse/Lismore Surf Lifesaving Club. Also, he was Far North Coast Senior Diving Champion and captained the Lismore team at the State water polo championships.”
“After suffering a heart attack and a few strokes with major complications a few years ago, he became severely restricted with movement. He has problems with balance on land, even though his limb movement is still strong. The doctors originally thought that he would have to be put into a nursing home, but because of his love of the water, he was able to start moving again, with water therapy.”
“Water therapy has been very important in rehabilitation: with him regaining most of what he lost and things are going well. Recently he has taken up snorkeling! The shinfinTM fins have been fantastic, as they are easy to move in while entering the water and allow him to maintain balance easier while standing in the water. The distribution of the energy through the entire leg, rather than just the ankle, also means it is much easier and takes less energy, to kick.”
“The confidence factor, in that he feels safer, is also important.”
“So far we have only tested the fins in the pool, but come Christmas he will be busting to get into the ocean! Will send photos when we snorkel in them in the sea.”
I’m glad your father benefits from them so much and feels safer and more confident. We have an increasing number of customers using the fins for rehabilitation in various ways and are getting excellent feedback. Have you and/or Tony tried the fins too?
“Glad to hear things are going well with the product. We are going to give the fins a test in the surf and with a knee board over Christmas, so will report back.”
Water therapy with shinfinTM fins is safer with better balance and can help you recover from heart attacks and strokes. As they leave your feet free, they make it easier and safer to walk and stand in the water. Here is a review from someone using them for hip therapy and walking exercises.
