Broken leg recovery: hydrotherapy fins

Using shinfinTM fins for various hydrotherapy strengthening exercises helps Vicki’s recovery from her broken leg. Despite her swollen ankle, the fins still fit her. Furthermore, they don’t make her ankles ache like normal foot flippers. They are lighter and easier to pack into her bag because they don’t have a bulky foot pocket. She also found them quite good to walk in as they leave her feet free, .

Vicki’s review from Sandy Bay, Australia

“Have enjoyed swimming with the fins. After one recent swim, I tried a normal pair of flippers on and found them quite hard work on my ankle that is still aching at the end of the day! No such problems with shinfinTM fins. They also happen to fit in the swimming bag a bit easier too!”

Vicki’s review: Hydrotherapy fins for broken leg recovery

“Saw your shinfinTM fins on Beyond Tomorrow and thought they might help in the swimming I’m about to do, to help my broken arm and leg recover after breaking them in August! It looks like a great Australian product and I’m keen to try them.”

“Had a play with them out of the water. Next week will be the bigger test but they look good and I can get them on around my swollen ankle and leg which is great.”

“Have tried the fins a couple of times and they felt much better the second time. Will get to a 50m pool soon and see the real benefits. The hydrotherapy pool is just a bit to small to get very far.”

“I showed my physio this morning. She was very keen on trying a pair for the company and using them to give resistance to people who needed to strengthen their legs. I found that walking in them was quite good. As was sitting on a ‘noodle’ and doing a cycling action with my legs.”

“Have also had a couple of people at work interested in them!”

Yes, it can take a little while to get used to them. But it sounds like you are really finding the benefits. So I look forward to hearing from you after you’ve had a swim in the big pool. Follow the tips to get the best from them.

Thank you for spreading the shinfinTM word to your physio and work colleagues. Personal recommendations are the best thing for getting a new idea like this going, so I really appreciate it.

Many thanks for your kind feedback Vicki. Yes, we get a lot of people telling us similar things. The fins offer many benefits. We have people from age 8 to 88 using them for swimming and exercises etc.

What does your physio think of them?

Vicki

“My physio was impressed by them. She had not bought a pair last I heard but was trying to. She liked the idea of giving extra resistance to people who were walking in water to strengthen the muscles.”

Glad your physio liked them. Yes, they also work well for a lot of water aerobics exercises like water walking. Thank you for your help.

Conclusion

You can use shinfinTM fins for various hydrotherapy strengthening exercises to help your recovery from injuries such as a broken leg, ankle or foot, as in this broken foot review. Unlike normal foot flippers, they are strong and lightweight and don’t strain your ankles. Furthermore, your feet are free to walk.

Furthermore, they are lighter, easier to pack into your bag and tough to last many years.
