Arthritis, fibromyalgia & fused ankles: fitness fins

shinfinTM fins have given Annie 15 years of joyous fitness swimming, helping her cope with mobility issues fom severe arthritis, fibromyalgia and both ankles fused. This is because the fins lift her lower body horizontal to increase buoyancy and reduce drag. Most important for Annie, they improve her kick efficiency and help her to maintain leg strength. Plus, they achieve all this without aggravating her fused ankles and dodgy feet, because they strap above her ankles. Strong and durable, her first pair of fins still work and only look worn, after 15 years of regular use.

Annie’s review from Castlemaine, Australia

Both of my ankles are surgically fused due to severe arthritis. Having lost my natural kicking motion, I had to rely on a pull buoy to maintain lower body buoyancy and reduce drag. I immediately saw how they’d help me. With the fins, I’m able to produce an efficient kick and maintain some degree of leg strength, without upsetting my dodgy ankles and feet. I’m enormously grateful to you Marc. The fins have given me fifteen years of joyous swimming and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon!

Annie’s review: Fitness fins for fused ankles, arthritis & fibromyalgia

(From Annie’s husband Harry) “My wife Annie purchased a pair of shinfinTM fins from you something like fifteen years ago. She has loved using them so much they are starting to wear out. Beset by serious arthritis and fibromyalgia, the fins have allowed Annie to maintain her fitness and enjoy swimming. My order was a birthday gift to her to replace the tattered pair.”

I am so glad to hear that your wife has had fifteen years of loving her fins so much, for maintaining her fitness and enjoyment of swimming, despite her serious arthritis and fibromyalgia.

Can I ask a favour please? Would you mind if I put some extracts from your emails on the website? I think it would be useful for other people. Especially those with arthritis and fibromyalgia, to read what you have said. Perhaps Annie might like to contribute something too, about how she feels when she swims with them. It would be most helpful. Many thanks.

Annie (after 15 years using shinfin™ fins)

“My husband Harry bought me a new pair of shinfinTM fins for my birthday in January, and you asked him if he (and I) would mind if you posted extracts from his email on your website. Absolutely you can! People are forever asking me about my fins. I always wax lyrical and suggest they check out your website. In fact, if you had brochures, I’d be giving them away!”

“To elaborate on Harry’s email. Both of my ankles are surgically fused due to severe arthritis. Having lost my natural kicking motion, I had to rely on a pull buoy to maintain lower body buoyancy and reduce drag. I saw shinfinTM fins on the New Inventors about a million years ago (?!) and immediately saw how they’d help me.”

“Please please free to use whatever you’d like from this (and Harry’s) email. Warm regards, Annie.”

It is wonderful to hear that your shinfin™ fins have given you 15 years of joyous swimming with an efficient kick and less drag. We get similar great feedback from many other customers with fused ankles, due to arthritis and other issues. Strapping fins above your ankles really does remove the strain on your ankles and feet.

Thank you for your permission. Personal recommendation is very important to help a new product like this along, so I really appreciate it. The shinfin™ word is spreading well thanks to people like you. All the best and happy finning.

shinfinTM fins can help you enjoy fitness swimming with many mobility issues, such as from severe arthritis, fibromyalgia or fused ankles. Because they strap above your ankles, they don’t aggravate fused ankles and sensitive feet. Most important, the fins lift your lower body horizontal. This increases buoyancy, reduces drag, improves kick efficiency and helps you strengthen your legs. Strong, lightweight and durable, the fins will give you many years of regular use.
