No back problems: swimming exercise fins

Tony gets no back problems when he uses his shinfinTM fins for exercise swimming. Also, he doesn’t get the calf or foot cramping that he gets with regular foot fins. So overall, he finds them very comfortable.

Tony’s review from Kiama Downs, Australia

“They certainly do not cause my lower back any problems when swimming. Very comfortable and have no problems with calf or foot cramping I get with normal fins.”

Tony’s review: Swimming exercise fins with no back problems

“I intend to use the fins for bodyboarding and general swimming in the pool as exercise.”

“The ordering system was good. I look forward to trying your product as I have always had difficulties with ordinary fins from cramping etc. in my legs and feet.”

I think you will enjoy them for pool exercise swimming and bodyboarding. They don’t cause cramps in your feet and calf muscles like foot fins.

“What great service thanks very much. I am pushing 50 and have a really crook lower back and my doctor is insisting that I swim regularly to strengthen the muscles. I hope to utilise the fins for this as well as my bodyboarding.”

“Will let you know what I think and perhaps they may be a novelty at the Kiama swim centre and I can get you some orders.”

I have had a good number of very positive comments from customers using them to exercise their lower backs. So, I look forward to hearing from you too. I would be very interested to hear back from you about your swimming exercise and bodyboarding experiences with your new fins.

“Thanks for the follow up. I have been using the fins in the pool recently as part of my swimming regime to assist with my crook lower back. They certainly do not cause my lower back any problems when swimming. I am still learning to use them but have found them to be very comfortable and have no problems with calf or foot cramping I get with normal fins.”

“They do not seem to provide as much propulsion as foot fins but this may just be a perception or maybe the way I kick.”

Great to hear you are finding them good and comfortable for your lower back. Yes, they really do wonders for your kick action and your core muscle strength in your torso.

They may be a little slower than with your foot fins to start with. Or it might be your perception, as you say, because the kick is quite different to a foot flipper kick. In any case, your speed will increase as you strengthen for the proper streamlined kick that they use.

Indeed training with them improves your entire body position and stroke (arms too). Your “no-fins” swimming will improve as a result.

Conclusion

Exercise swimming with shinfinTM fins helps you avoid the back problems associated with regular foot fins. Furthermore, they give you less calf cramping and foot cramping. Please also see the overall comfort reviews and the full comparison against foot fins.
