Less knee pain fin reviews

  • Backstroke & freestyle ankle surgery recovery fins

Shannon loves her shinfinTM fins for fast backstroke and freestyle kicking, to help her recover from her recent ankle surgery. Also, they do not aggravate her past knee injury. This is because shinfinTM fins strap to her lower legs just above her ankles, leaving her feet free to move naturally. So, unlike regular foot fins, they avoid the potentially damaging, twisting forces on her ankles and knees. Instead, her ankles can remain comfortable, supple and relaxed as she kicks. She also uses them for water walking exercises.

Shannon’s review from Friday Harbour, USA

“I love my shinfinTM fins!! LOVE! I thought fun, fast kicking was out for me but shinfinTM fins have restored that experience. YAY!!! I’m in my doctor approved third week of post-surgical swimming after ankle surgery. I have to do a lot of backstroke due to other nerve issues affecting freestyle sometimes. Backstroke is great.”

  • No gout arthritis pains in ankle, foot, heel & knee: lap fins

For many years, Harley has found shinfinTM fins fantastic for his lap swimming because they don’t bend his ankles, so they don’t trigger gout arthritis pains in his ankle, foot, heel and knee. This is because they strap above his ankles, leaving his ankles and feet free. In contrast, conventional foot fins strain his ankles, which can cause a gout arthritis attack.

    Harley’s review from Brisbane, Australia

“I have had the fins for about 4 years and have used them every year for about 3 months in summer swimming laps. They have been fantastic, as they put no bending moment on my ankles. I suffer from gout from time to time and if I use conventional swim fins my ankles take strain and that can lead to a gout attack. This is not a pleasant experience believe me. Your shinfinTM fins are a marvellous invention.”

  • Freestyle retraining fins: no knee or foot issues

Importantly, after following the fin fitting tips and positioning her fins to suit her kick, Tamra really loves her shinfinTM fins for retraining her freestyle, and without foot or knee issues. They allow her to smooth her stroke so they retrain her away from a choppy freestyle. She really feels the difference in her hip flexors and back. This is because the fins are designed to lift her hips and encourage power from her hips using the stronger muscles in her thighs and torso. She uses them daily, enjoys her pool time again and bought a second pair of fins about six years later.

    Tamra’s review from Albuquerque, USA

“I am loving my fins!! Sending people to your website. Really notice the difference in my hip flexors and back. Awesome in helping me retrain my choppy “fight the water” freestyle. No issues with knees or feet. Gets easier putting them on and taking off. Just enjoying pool time again! Thanks for inventing these beauties! I use them every day!! I love my shinfinTM fins more than any piece of equipment I own!!”

  • Exercise & deep water running fins

Megan loves her shinfinTM fins for her daily exercise including freestyle swimming, kicking practice and deep water running with a float around her waist. They don’t hurt her back, hips, knees and ankles like normal foot fins. This is because they encourage her to kick from her hips with a smooth kick thrust. Overall she finds they give her good workouts and help her to get more out of her exercise.

    Megan’s review from Townsville, Australia

“I love my shinfinTM fins. I find them easier on my body (ankles, knees, hips, back) than normal fins and I swim every day. Mostly freestyle and lots of kicking practice. shinfinTM fins help me get more out of the exercies. I use a float around my waist for deep water running. It is a good workout.”

  • Below knee amputation with knee replacement fins

Audrey’s shinfinTM fins allow her to enjoy swimming again after her knee replacement surgery and below knee amputation. They have made a huge difference to her swimming technique, ability and momentum because they give her equal kick power in both her legs. So she can now swim in a straight line again too! Also, her prosthetist altered the buckles because she has weak fingers due to arthritis.

    Audrey’s review from Victoria, Canada

“I’m an amputee and they have given me back my enjoyment in swimming. They are just the best! Now I can swim in a straight line and with some momentum. Thank you! I now have equal kicking power in both legs. I’ve told so many people about these fins. I’m so glad to be able to get back swimming as I thought I would have to give it up after my surgery because it was such a struggle to swim with 1/2 legs.” And months later: “I’m still using the fins faithfully and thoroughly enjoying them. They have made a huge difference to my swimming ability.”

  • After knee replacement: physical therapy fins

Chris finds her shinfinTM fins very comfortable and beneficial for physical therapy after her total knee replacement. In fact, she wishes she had also used them for aquatic therapy exercises before her surgery, to strengthen her hips, quads and glutes. What’s more, they lift her legs higher in the water and give her a stronger freestyle kick, so she swims faster.

    Chris’ review from Springfield, USA

“For me the shinfinTM fins are so much more comfortable than the slip on foot fins I was using. In physical therapy, before and also after total knee joint replacement, the therapists stress hip strengthening exercises. So I’m glad I’m using shinfinTM fins now because I feel like your hips get a good workout with them. I’m not a really good swimmer but I notice since I’ve used the shinfinTM fins that I have a much stronger kick in the freestyle. These fins also keep my legs higher in the water. I seem to go a whole bunch faster. Thanks for a great pair of fins!”

  • Knee reconstruction, back fusion & Achilles tendinitis: rehabilitation fins

For over 10 years, Cecilia loves using her shinfinTM fins to rehabilitate following ACL knee reconstruction, back disc fusion and Achilles tendinitis. They improve her swimming remarkably, whilst also strengthening her back and leg muscles. She finds them so comfortable because they reduce back pain, reduce knee pain and avoid Achilles tendon pain.

Cecilia’s review from Clifton Forge, USA

After 2 weeks: “They are absolutely wonderful! The shinfinTM fins are a great workout. I would highly recommend them over any other type of fin. I’ve noticed a remarkable improvement in my swimming.”

After 10 years: “I have been using my shinfinTM fins for at least 10 years now and I absolutely love them. I was able to use them many years ago to rehabilitate after an ACL knee reconstruction. Currently using them to rehabilitate after a back fusion. I also have bilateral Achilles tendinitis, so the shinfinTM fins are perfect for me. They really work for strengthening the back and leg muscles. I don’t get in the pool without them. I just can’t say enough good things about them. Thanks so much for coming up with these.”

  • After knee replacement: less back & knee pain fins

shinfinTM fins help Nelly rehabilitate after knee replacement surgery, by strengthening her muscles below her waist, with less knee pain and less back pain. This is because they encourage a streamlined kick with smooth delivery of power from her thighs and torso, with only a little knee-bend. She uses them to swim freestyle (front crawl) and backstroke (back crawl).

    Nelly’s review from Langenselbold, Germany

“After knee replacement surgery, I would like to strengthen my muscles below the waist, especially the legs, so that I can walk longer and improve my swimming style (front crawl and back crawl). Since the operation, I can no longer do any twisting moves with my left leg when swimming.”

3 months later. “I am doing well with my fins and they have helped to strengthen the muscles below my waist. I am experiencing less pain in the back and the knees – problem areas up to now. Certainly I can confirm what your other customers have been saying.”

  • Less ankle, knee & back pain: rehabilitation fins

Mike’s reviews, progressively over three years, show how shinfinTM fins help his rehabilitation from lumbar back surgery, with much less pain in his ankles, knees and back. Initially he could not swim at all, due to the residual back pain from his back surgery, ten years prior. However, his shinfinTM fins give him such a good workout to strengthen his muscles in his thighs, buttocks, trunk, core and lumbar back. Such a good workout, in fact, that he became able to swim 1500 m of freestyle without pain. Most importantly, no more back pain and hence no further back surgery required. So Mike is an ecstatic customer!

    Mike’s review from Cobalt, Canada

    After 2 months

“My knees are feeling better, as I’m getting more power in my legs. And my ankles couldn’t be happier.”

“They give me a great workout, especially the thighs and the entire trunk area. Which is a pleasant surprise, as I’m always trying to increase my strength in my lumbar, abdominal and buttocks area. I’m swimming twice a week for about 45 minutes each time. So yes, I like them a lot. And yes, they are just what I need for my strength training.”

    After 2 years

“The fins are just great. I have increased my core and thigh strength tremendously. I have been using them for two years now, twice a week, doing 750 m with the fins and 750 m without.”

“Two years ago I couldn’t even do the front crawl due to my degenerative disc problem in my lower back. I had spinal discectomy surgery at the L3-L4 level years ago. Now I do 1500 m two times a week. Need I say any more!”

“I used to think that I was inevitably just going to have to live with my back pain or eventually go back under the knife. Like it was always in the back of my mind that nothing would get me over the hump in my rehabilitation.”

“Well, I have found the solution in these shinfinTM fins. Thanks again Marc.”
