Open water swimming with shoes & fins

Milo uses shinfinTM fins for lap swimming and for open water swimming with his amphibious water shoes. He values that he can walk and run with the fins. They are strong and lightweight, so he can also wear them for water safety riding his jet ski. As a past competitive swimmer, he appreciates that shinfinTM fins don’t make him alter his natural kick (unlike regular fins).

Milo’s review from Seattle, USA

“They are impressive Marc. I was a competitive swimmer years ago, and it’s great to have a fin that doesn’t make me alter my kick. Amphibious shoes and the shinfinTM fins are a great combo. Surprisingly, the drag from leaving the shoes on is not that much. I think your shinfinTM fins are creating a dead area that shields the shoes from the water flow somewhat.”

Broken leg recovery: hydrotherapy fins

Using shinfinTM fins for various hydrotherapy strengthening exercises helps Vicki’s recovery from her broken leg. Despite her swollen ankle, the fins still fit her. Furthermore, they don’t make her ankles ache like normal foot flippers. They are lighter and easier to pack into her bag because they don’t have a bulky foot pocket. She also found them quite good to walk in as they leave her feet free, .

Vicki’s review from Sandy Bay, Australia

“Have enjoyed swimming with the fins. After one recent swim, I tried a normal pair of flippers on and found them quite hard work on my ankle that is still aching at the end of the day! No such problems with shinfinTM fins. They also happen to fit in the swimming bag a bit easier too!”

Light & easy to pack: snorkeling & swimming fins

Urzsula finds it easier traveling with shinfinTM fins for snorkeling and swimming trips because they are so light and easy to pack compared to regular foot flippers. Urszula ordered a couple of pairs for herself and her friend. She found them great for snorkeling and swimming once she became used to them. The fins guide you into a natural kick action, which may not be familiar to some people at first. Also, once you put them on a few times, you naturally adjust the fin position for the best result.

Urszula’s review from Wembley Downs, Australia

“Yes the fins are great. We took them to Thailand and used them for swimming and snorkeling. They are also light and easy to pack!”

Above knee amputee: snorkeling with prosthetic leg fins

Shaun is an above knee amputee who snorkels wearing a pair of shinfinTM fins, one fin on his prosthetic leg and the other fin on his shin. He is very happy with them, especially because of the easier water entry, water exit and streamlined kicking propulsion technique. Also, he highly values that the fins are light and compact enough to fit into his small carry-on backpack, for ultralight traveling. His story is very useful for above knee amputees and below knee amputees swimming with waterproof prosthetic legs, for snorkeling and other water activities too.

Shaun’s review from Redondo Beach, USA

“The shinfinTM fins worked great for me and had a ton of benefits. Overall I couldn’t be happier.”

Bilateral below knee quad amputee: swim exercise fins

Sami (Beth’s and Bill’s son), a quad amputee bilateral below knee, has been swimming with shinfinTM fins for many years, as a child to adult. The fins have adjusted as he grew and have proven strong to last many years. They make his swimming exercise so much easier and more fun. So much, that they have recommended the fins to other children and adults through the International Child Amputee Network.

Beth’s & Bill’s review from Tuscon, USA

“I want to thank you for inventing this wonderful device. My son swims for exercise and for fun and his shinfinTM fins have made this so much easier for him! Sami is now the Board President of the International Child Amputee Network (I-CAN) and we have recommended shinfinTM fins to other children and young adults through this organization.”
