Teach, bodyboard, body surf & snorkel: multi-use fins

Anne finds her shinfinTM fins great for many uses: from teaching squad swimmers and beginners, through to surf swimming, bodyboarding, body surfing and snorkeling. She likes the extra propulsion with the natural kick technique, streamlined body and no leg cramps. What’s more, sharing the fins is easy, as one size fits most. She also likes that they fit securely, so don’t fall off in surf wipe outs.

Anne’s review from Kilmore, Australia

First, swim teaching. “The shinfinTM fins are great. They enable swimmers to practice the correct kicking technique, and to maintain it after they take the fins off. Very useful in teaching dolphin kick and butterfly for this reason. One size fits most, so no more scrambling around for the right sized fins, which saves me a great deal of time poolside. Great for squad level swimmers. Especially useful for adult students who are learning to swim from scratch. Natural kicking action with extra propulsion to help maintain streamlined body position and buoyancy. Assist with overall water confidence. Happy to endorse a product this good.”

Then, in the surf. “My shinfinTM fins were fantastic for surf swimming, bodyboarding and body surfing. Compared to “normal” fins I had less dramas getting into the surf. Great to swim & paddle in. Didn’t come off even when I wiped out. Also found them great when snorkeling. No leg cramps.”

Swim teaching

“So far the shinfinTM fins are great, and are sparking some interest at the pool where I work (Kilmore Leisure Centre, Victoria). As you said, they enable swimmers to practice the correct kicking technique, and to maintain it after they take the fins off. I’ve found them very useful in teaching dolphin kick and butterfly for this reason. One size fits most, so no more scrambling around for the right sized fins, which saves me a great deal of time poolside.”

“Students have to work their kick, not just cruise along as they would in regular fins, making them great for squad level swimmers. I’ve also found them especially useful for adult students who are learning to swim from scratch. The fins seem to enable a natural kicking action with extra propulsion to help maintain streamlined body position and buoyancy, so assist with overall water confidence.”

“The shinfinTM fins take a little longer to put on than regular fins, but I’m getting faster with practice. I’m looking forward to hitting the beach over summer and trying the fins out body surfing & bodyboarding. I’ll be sure to let you know how I go.”

Many thanks for your kind feedback Anne. We get a lot of feedback like this. You are clearly trying them out in lots of different teaching situations. So it is particularly interesting to hear your comments.

Do you find the length of time the improved kick continues after they take the fins off, extends a bit more each time they use the fins and becomes their natural kick? Do you also find them useful for helping to improve the overall stroke technique of the whole body and arms?

Surf swimming, bodyboarding, body surfing & snorkeling

“I’m just back from a holiday at Cape Paterson, Victoria. I wanted to let you know that my shinfinTM fins were fantastic for surf swimming, bodyboarding and body surfing. Compared to “normal” fins I had less dramas getting into the surf. They were great to swim & paddle in. And they didn’t come off even when I wiped out.”

“I also found them great when snorkeling. No leg cramps.”

“Several people approached me to ask about the shinfinTM fins and seemed impressed with their performance. One lady in particular thought they may suit her needs, as she has muscle wastage on one leg and liked the adjustable fit possible with shinfinTM fins.”

“Another liked that they didn’t come off in the surf. She said she normally wears one flipper at a time to minimise the cost of losses in the surf.”

“Others just wanted see what they were. I passed on your website details, so hope you get some further enquiries.”

Many thanks for your kind email Anne. Great to hear from you again. It seems like you have used them for most things now. Thank you for telling people about them, that is very good of you.

And thank you for your previous call too. I’m happy to hear that your friend loves her shinfinTM fins for body surfing.

By the way, we have a lot of people using them to help cope with various disabilities and rehabilitation after operations or injury. The flexible fit really helps with this, as for the lady with the muscle wastage that you talked with.

Conclusion

You will find shinfinTM fins great for many uses. One pair of fins for all! They help to teach squad swimmers and beginners, and you can also enjoy them for surf swimming, bodyboarding, body surfing and snorkeling.

You will appreciate the extra propulsion, natural kick technique and streamlined body. In addition, you get this with comfort, without the pain and leg cramps of regular foot fins. What’s more, sharing the fins is easy, as one size fits most. And they fit securely, so they don’t fall off in the waves.
